Why Attend?

This full-day professional learning session is designed to equip secondary educators with the knowledge and strategies to effectively implement Response to Intervention (RTI) in their schools. Based on Solution Tree’s RTI at Work model, participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of the RTI framework, including the key elements that must be considered when beginning the RTI process at the secondary level.

During the session, participants will:

  • Gain practical strategies and knowledge to successfully launch and sustain an RTI model for their course or grade level.

  • Explore creating and using assessments to pinpoint skill gaps.

  • Determine appropriate student placement within RTI tiers.

  • Evaluate the impact of RTI on student growth and achievement.

To ensure the session is highly interactive and practical, participants are encouraged to bring or have access to a curriculum unit they might use in an RTI cycle. Throughout the day, there will be hands-on opportunities to dive deeply into creating checkpoints, designing interventions, and directly implementing learning into planning a cycle. By the end of the session, participants will leave prepared to launch their first RTI cycle of the year with confidence and clarity.

Designed for active engagement, collaboration, and reflection, schools are encouraged to be intentional about assembling a team to participate that includes teachers, instructional support staff, and administrators. Teams will reflect on their learning and its application to their work, leaving with actionable steps tailored to context.
