Why Participate?

Are you a PLTW teacher or trainer looking for a strong support system to help you navigate the ever-changing landscape of your profession? Join us for an informational meeting to explore the possibility of establishing a PLTW Network. This will be a great opportunity to collaborate with other PLTW teachers or trainers across Missouri to share best practices and learn from one another.

Alana was a high school teacher, middle school teacher, curriculum director, and spent three years in elementary administration before serving her last 7 years as a high school principal at Dexter High School in Southeast Missouri. Alana brought all three high school PLTW tracks to her local high school and found ways to fund those programs through the DESE provided CTE funding for the programs.

Alana retired from public education in 2023, joining the PLTW team in September of 2023. She lives in Dexter with her husband, Josh, who is an athletic director. She has one daughter, Ellen, who is an accounting major at the University of Mississippi and a son, Ben, who will be a senior in high school and graduate with the class of 2025.

Alana is so excited to be the Director of School Success for PLTW for the state of Missouri. She is passionate about helping schools find ways to implement Project Lead the Way, providing STEM and career exploration for students.

Our GOLearn PL Framework provides an overview of the learning experiences we offer. This systems approach supports continuous improvement and allows members to identify the offerings that meet their needs, providing a personalized experience. It includes three strands: Systems Thinking, Safe and Collaborative Culture, and Highly Effective Teaching and Leading.

We use the Learning Forward Standards for Professional Learning when designing our experiences to ensure that we provide professional learning that leads to high-quality leading, teaching, and learning for students and educators.
